This project required the design of a groundplane which instructs, explains or reveals. The topic I chose to reveal through my surface was 'rewilding aesthetic' or the beauty of messy landscapes. The entire site plan follows a gradient from formal monoculture to wild and woolly mosaic. A meandering path takes you back and forth throughout the site to allow visitors to experience and notice the difference. Textures were chosen to represent the plants according to specific traits I sought to bring out in each species. Below is the process drawings to create each texture.
